about me
I have over 20 years of experience in counseling, working in a variety of settings. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University in 1991, majoring in social work with a minor in family studies. I worked in the hospital setting, and with a private adoption agency. I received my Master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah in 2003. Since that time, I have been working with individuals, couples and families in the psychotherapy setting as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I received my training as a Certified Hypnotherapist from Brigham City Hypnosis in 2009, and am a member of the National Guild of Hypnotherapists. I am a practitioner of The Emotion Code®, receiving my training from Dr. Bradley Nelson. I have extensive training and experience using a variety of other therapeutic techniques. I approach psychotherapy from an eclectic perspective depending on the needs of my client, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Emotion Code, Hypnotherapy, Lifespan Integration, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique/Meridian Tapping, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
My husband and I have been married since 1983, have three children and six grandchildren.
